Iván López, cineasta y periodista tinerfeño ha desarrollado una destacada carrera en el ámbito audiovisual canario. Licenciado en Filología Hispánica y Ciencias de la Información por la Universidad de La Laguna, y con un máster en Dirección Cinematográfica por la Universidad Camilo José Cela, López ha dirigido más de una veintena de cortometrajes de ficción y documentales. Entre sus obras más reconocidas se encuentra el documental Quesada: la verdad del silencio (2023), resultado de casi 15 años de investigación sobre el asesinato del estudiante Javier Fernández Quesada en 1977.
Además, López ha dirigido el largometraje Platón (2018), que aborda la incomunicación intergeneracional a través de la historia de un adolescente en busca de su padre, y el mediometraje Odio los lunes, una fábula coral sobre el perdón y las relaciones humanas.
Paralelamente a su labor como cineasta, López ha ejercido como periodista en Antena 3 TV y ha sido docente de guion en la Escuela Literaria de La Laguna, contribuyendo activamente a la formación y promoción del cine en Canarias.
En 2025 funda El Nido en el Ático Films, un sello con marcado carácter independiente de cara a producir películas y proyectos minimalistas que puedan aportar valor.
Iván López, a filmmaker and journalist from Tenerife, has developed a notable career within the Canary Islands’ audiovisual scene. He holds degrees in Hispanic Philology and Information Sciences from the University of La Laguna, as well as a Master’s in Film Directing from the Camilo José Cela University. López has directed more than twenty fiction and documentary short films. Among his most acclaimed works is Quesada: La verdad del silencio (2023), the result of nearly fifteen years of research into the 1977 murder of student Javier Fernández Quesada.
Additionally, López directed the feature film Platón (2018), which explores intergenerational disconnection through the story of a teenager searching for his father, and the medium-length film Odio los lunes, a choral fable about forgiveness and human relationships.
Alongside his work as a filmmaker, López has worked as a journalist for Antena 3 and has taught screenwriting at the Literary School of La Laguna, contributing actively to the development and promotion of cinema in the Canary Islands.
In 2025, he founded El Nido en el Ático Films, an independent label dedicated to producing minimalist films and projects that seek to bring emotional and artistic value.
